Oasis Outdoor Media and MMAP get digi with it!
Oasis Outdoor Media and MMAP Integrated Outdoor Solutions recently treated guests to the exclusive official launch of a new Digital Out-Of-Home offering, set to roll out across 100 BP forecourts by February 2016. The launch enjoyed representation from the following media agencies; The Media Shop, Zenith Optimedia, Universal McCann, RMS, Ebony & Ivory, Starcom, Mediacom, Mindshare, Vizeum, Carat, Posterscope and PHD as well as some selected private clients.
Reinhardt Hanel, Managing Director of Oasis Outdoor Media and Airborne Outdoor ensured a memorable event for the guests as they were flown by helicopter to Casalinga restaurant for an afternoon of mingling, good food and to be introduced to the latest disruption to the South African DOOH landscape.
Although the afternoon was casual and relaxed the new offering from Oasis Outdoor Media is an important newcomer to the South African DOOH landscape and Reinhardt had this to say; “we started running scrollers on the forecourts of BP in 2004 and since then they have been well received. It was a natural evolution to eventually digitize these sites but we took our time in finding the right technology. In February of this year, we found what we were looking for, after 3 years of sourcing we now have the best technology for this application.”
Now having access to this cutting edge digital technology, there is no doubt that Oasis Outdoor Media will replace and add to this footprint within their other holdings in the very near future.
“We were adamant about going digital due to printed OOH now being rendered a bit inflexible and in an environment like a forecourt where your audience has dwell time, delivering rich content just makes sense!” says Hanel.
To further enhance the offering Hanel explains that delivering rich content at point-of-purchase with the ability to change creative according to time of year, specials etc talks to the type of impact OOH should be having in the current economic climate, it should have a direct impact on moving product! “And this makes it an excellent long term and tactical campaign tool!” concludes Hanel.
With the strategic alliance of BP and Pick ‘n Pay, foot-traffic at these sites has seen a vertical increase in numbers which further compounds the value proposition and strategic rationale for the development of the offering by Hanel and his team.
